Interior cleaning: what the three levels include and how to choose

Interior cleaning comes in three levels. The lightest removes loose dirt by vacuuming, the middle one also cleans the surfaces and the inside of the windows, and the most thorough also wet-cleans the seats. The right level depends on whether the car mainly has sand and crumbs in it, or ingrained dirt and stains.

What each level includes

Interior cleaning. The price depends on the size of the car, and you will see the price for your car when you book.
ServiceIncludesPrice
Light interior cleaningVacuuming the floor, seats and mats, and wiping the dashboard€39–52
Full interior cleaningFull vacuuming, wiping the surfaces, the inside of the windows and the boot€64–77
Total interior cleaningFull interior cleaning plus wet cleaning of the seats (leather seats by a separate method); the work takes 4–8 hours€189–229

Vacuuming is enough for everyday upkeep

Sand and grit carried in on shoes wear down the mats and upholstery every time someone sits or steps on them. That is why loose dirt should be removed regularly, even if the car otherwise looks tidy.

Light interior cleaning suits a car in daily use whose interior stays reasonably clean. The floor, seats and mats are vacuumed and the dashboard is wiped. The boot and windows are not included at this level.

When the surfaces and windows need cleaning

Full interior cleaning includes full vacuuming, wiping the surfaces and cleaning the inside of the windows. The boot is also included at this level. Over time a grey film builds up on the inside of the glass, which shows most when the sun is low or you face oncoming headlights. Dirty glass also mists up more easily than clean glass.

This level is a good choice a few times a year, for example after winter or before a long trip.

When the upholstery is stained

Total interior cleaning is full interior cleaning plus wet cleaning of the seats. Wet cleaning gets out what a vacuum cleaner can't reach in fabric upholstery: dried stains and dirt pressed deep into the fibres. Leather seats are also included, but they are cleaned with a different method from fabric seats. This level suits, for example, a car bought second-hand or a family car whose seats have collected spills.

The work takes 4–8 hours, so choose a day when you don't need the car. Your parking is validated for the whole time the work takes. Washing the floor is not included in the price. If the floor needs washing, we can agree on it on site.

Extra services for pet hair and odours

Pet hair clings to upholstery so tightly that ordinary vacuuming can't get all of it out. Pet hair removal is an extra service you can choose on top of interior cleaning. The price depends on the amount of hair (from €19).

If the car smells of tobacco, pets or mustiness, ozone treatment removes the smell (Ozone treatment / odour removal, from €79). It works best after cleaning, once the source of the smell has been removed. How long the treatment takes depends on the car and the smell, and we take care of airing the car afterwards. There is more on this in our article on car odour removal.

How to choose

  • The car mainly has sand, crumbs and dust in it: Light interior cleaning.
  • The surfaces are dusty or sticky and the windows are hazy on the inside: Full interior cleaning.
  • The seats are stained, or it has been a long time since the last proper clean: Total interior cleaning.

If you are not sure, describe the condition of the car in the Message to the shop field when you book, or call 010 508 9300. Before you come, it's worth clearing your own belongings out of the car; you will find tips in our article on preparing your car for interior cleaning.
